The Kaen Thong Uppatham School is a school under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) in Prawet District. The school opened to support underprivileged children from difficult family conditions.
In the 2022-2023 period, the IVL Foundation continued its support for the school based on the positive outcomes of its previous contributions. This included increased student earnings from the project and improved productivity in the fish processing, vegetable and frog farming projects. The IVL Foundation further extended its support by providing additional equipment for these key projects:
- Vegetable Farming: The IVL Foundation supported the construction of four vegetable domes and the improvement of two existing domes dedicated to growing salad vegetables. The produced vegetables will be sold to nearby cooking schools and communities.
- Fertilizer Composting: This initiative aimed to optimize the utilization of food waste through composting, enhancing soil quality for optimal plant growth.
- Fish/Frog Farming (including Agriproduct Processing): The IVL Foundation built two additional ponds to accommodate the farming of fish and frogs, providing a suitable ecosystem, sustainable source of food and breeders.
- Stingless Bee Farming: This activity’s goal is to relocate Stingless Beehives from the school walls and create an optimal environment for their growth. Upon successful breeding, the school plans to sell the bees to local farmers.
