Teach For Thailand (TFT) is a non-profit organization with the goal of ending educational inequity in Thailand. It recruits and develops talented individuals to teach mathematics, science, and English to middle school students in economically challenged schools. The organization works in partnership with communities for a period of two years.
In 2021, Teach For Thailand approached the IVL Foundation for sponsorship of their Fellowship Program. The program allows the TFT teaching fellows to gain important skills, such as teaching skills, leadership, problem solving and the can-do attitude that will inspire them to become key drivers in transforming Thai education for the better. In turn, the students in the participating schools receive an enhanced education that will allow them to shape a better future for themselves and those around them.
2024
This year, the IVL Foundation has redirected its support to directly fund the salaries of teaching fellows in economically disadvantaged schools in Chiang Mai and Rayong. By the end of Q2, the IVL Foundation provided salary support for five teachers—four of whom teach science and one who teaches mathematics.
