The IVL Foundation is supporting the Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of India in operating 55 One-Teacher Schools across rural and tribal regions of India for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. Each school is led by a single teacher—often a local woman from the community—who provides essential non-formal education to children aged 4 to 14 who would otherwise have limited or no access to conventional schooling.
Each school operates for 3 hours a day, 22 to 24 days a month, and serves an average of 25 students per village. The curriculum is designed to be practical and inclusive, covering basic literacy and numeracy, health and hygiene, local sports, development education, and moral values.
